School seeks its old boys and girls A North Yorkshire school is looking for past pupils to come forward to help celebrate its 150th anniversary.
The village school of Marton-cum-Grafton will be marking the landmark birthday this October and is looking to find past pupils to join them in sharing their memories and give current pupils an insight into the school in previous years.
Head teacher, Marie-Louise Thirlaway said: “We are very excited about bringing the past to life for the children with real stories from past pupils.
“Next term the children will be learning about the Victorian era, when the school was built, but we would also like them to get an appreciation of how it was 20, 40 and even 80 years ago from past pupils. “If you know of anyone who was a pupil or teacher at our school we would really appreciate them getting in contact with us and sending in their memories, and joining us at our celebratory open day on October 8.”
