LENNY Bear has been doing his bit for St Leonard’s Hospice by having his blood pressure checked.
And further readings for the public will be offered by YORMED Ambulance and Medical service on Monday in Parliament Street, York, in return for a donation to the hospice.
The life-saving YORMED service is based in York and covers the UK, providing first aid and medical services.
It has offered the free blood pressure testing service for charity for the last few years and are expecting to test at least 200 people at this event.
The charity also aims to beat last year’s collection of more than £300. Janet Morley, director of fundraising at the hospice, in Tadcaster Road, York, said: “It’s always good to have a check to make sure you are keeping healthy, and YORMED’s service gives everyone the opportunity to have their blood pressure tested. We are very grateful to them for helping us in this very appropriate way.”
