THE history of two East Yorkshire landmarks is to be opened up as part of an archive tribute designed to showcase them.
The East Riding Archives and Local Studies Service will stage a repeat of its video presentation on the history of Beverley Minster and the town’s St Mary’s Church later this month.
Part of the “Film And Sound Archive Presents…” initiative, it will be staged in the archive cinema at Beverley’s Treasure House.
Sam Bartle, the service’s collections officer, said: “If you’re a great admirer of these buildings but seldom have the opportunity to go inside them, the presentation is a fascinating education on their history and architecture.”
The video features local documentary films which show some of the finer details of the exterior and interior of the churches.
It will be shown next Tuesday at 6.30pm.
Tickets cost £3 and booking essential.
To reserve a seat, phone 01482 392790 or visit the Archives and Local Studies searchroom at the Treasure House.
