Acomb won the York CIU Bowls Evening League Knockout Cup in a thrilling final against Clarence.
Clarence had only one winning rink under skip Peter Jackson and the destiny of the cup rested on his final wood.
He narrowly failed to dislodge Acomb’s winning shot bowl on the last end of the game as Clarence agonisingly lost 45-44.
The Acomb rink, skipped by Mick Crow, got the upper hand in the last four ends to beat John Stroughair’s rink by seven shots.
Only a couple of shot separated the teams on the third rink and Acomb’s Peter Watson eventually prevailed over Gary Bunce’s side.
