AFTER reading in The Press (July 20) about the serious accident on the A64, which has led to the arrest of a man on suspicion of stealing a car while driving down the A64 in the wrong direction, causing injury to others, isn’t it about time this country made criminals pay financially for their crimes?
This person has miraculously avoided killing other road users and is now being treated in York Hospital at the expense of taxpayers. Why should taxpayers pay for such individuals to be treated for injuries sustained through their own stupidity?
My thoughts go to the real victims in this case and I hope they receive the care and help they need, and more than likely pay for.
