STUDENTS at Millthorpe School in York braved the rain for a sponsored run.
Having spent the morning hearing presentations from different charities and designing campaign materials, students in Year 7 took to the field to raise money for their chosen cause.
Each form in Year 7 ran for a different cause, with charities such as the CandleLighters, St Leonard’s Hospice, Marie Curie Cancer Care and the British Heart Foundation being supported.
Head teacher Trevor Burton said: “The commitment of the students really has been heart-warming despite the rain.
“All students came into school in fancy dress and bristling with enthusiasm.
“We’re very proud of them all.”
