RE Bill Cowling’s Yorkshire Show report on only 25 people less than a record. I feel the visit of Prince Charles and Camilla boosted Wednesday’s figures.
They generously “walked” the crowds, shaking hands with all and sundry.
My brother-in-law, holding a tractor catalogue, caught Prince Charles’s attention.
He stopped, shook hands and asked what interest he had in the machine.
Camilla walked down our side of the huge line-up and shook hands with me – I asked her if she was enjoying the show and she replied that she loved it.
The crowds were delighted with both royals. As usual the WI food was superb. If only the members’ caterers were as good – the tea and coffee is always cold. If the WI can get it right why cannot they?
The show itself was amazing, magnificent livestock, so much admired by the crowds, the cattle, horses, pigs, sheep etc are so superb.
Well done to Bill and all who contribute to the success, year on year of the Great Yorkshire Show. It certainly is.
