WHILE I cannot comment on Andrew Sheard’s views regarding the A19/A1237 intersection (Letters, July 1), I can inform him that Shipton Parish Council, together with County Coun Caroline Patmore, have been working very hard over at least the last two years to try and persuade North Yorkshire’s highways department to do the necessary work to resurface the road north of Shipton village.
I am pleased to say that the cost of the work is, I understand, in this year’s county council budget and is scheduled to be started in November. Let’s hope it happens!
Bill Frost, Clerk to Shipton-by-Beningbrough Parish Council, Petercroft Lane, Dunnington.
