BEATEN finalists a year ago, Heworth went one better to capture the Quality Solicitors Burn & Company under-11s Cup, writes Henry Cowen.
Unbeaten so far this season, Heworth proved too much for a game and youthful Osbaldwick side in the final at Dunnington CC.
Heworth won the toss and chose to field.
Will Dalton made 11, but the Heworth fielding and bowling was at its best as Josh Bell took 4-3, skipper Ryan Whitley 2-5, as well as two catches, and Jakob Vaughan 2-5.
Wicket-keeper Oliver Hughes impressed with three stumpings, four catches as well as having a hand in three run-outs.
In reply, Edward Rymer made 19, including a big hit for six to the longest boundary. Tommy Pearson (14), Oliver Hughes (11) and Zak Moorcroft (10) also impressed.
Osbaldwick skipper James Hattee took 1-13 and Alfie Atkinson 1-16 but they could not prevent a Heworth win.
The Trophy was presented by Mark Burn of competition sponsors, Quality Solicitors Burn & Company.
