HORSE-chestnut trees in North Yorkshire are under threat from the leaf miner moth, which has struck in the region for the first time over the summer.
It causes leaves to become prematurely brown.
Andrew Halstead, principal entomologist with the Royal Horticultural Society, said: “The prospects of finding a control for this pest don’t look good.”
