A CAP should be placed on the interest rates charged by money lenders, two East Yorkshire politicians have said.
Couns Jonathan Owen and Jane Evison, of East Riding of Yorkshire Council, will put a motion to the council on Wednesday asking for support in backing plans to ask the Government to introduce legislation to cap excessive interest rates.
Coun Owen said: “We believe the time has come for national Government to consider legislation to better control this business.”
