TWO parks in York have won recognition for their high standards.
Glen Gardens and Clarence Gardens in York have once again received the prestigious Green Flag Award.
Councillor Sonja Crisp, Cabinet member for Leisure, Culture and Social Inclusion, City of York Council, said: “York residents are rightly proud of the city’s many parks and green spaces. The latest Green Flag Awards are testament to the hard work and dedication of the council’s Parks and Open Spaces team, and of volunteers and local community groups.”
It is the seventh year in succession that Glen Gardens has received the award, meaning its visitors can expect a well-maintained, well-managed and space with first-rate facilities.
For Clarence Gardens this is the second award it has gained, adding it to one of the 1,288 parks and spaces which fly a Green Flag award.
Many of York’s other parks and open spaces hold the award including Rowntree Park, West Bank Park and Rawcliffe Country Park.
