I HAVE been reading in The Press that York is to apply for lots of money to tackle the city’s congestion problem (The Press, July 13).

I don’t know who is holding the purse strings for this money, but could they just spend a couple of bob of it to let the ftr and York Pullman service know that the student population of York is on holiday for three months.

It is scandalous that York people are left without a bus service when the ftr and 44 service are running all day and into the night, empty.

We who work at the rail station have enough problems with the Tea Room Square, without trying to negotiate round these empty buses. There were six, three on each side, the other day.
