A REHABILITATION group in York which helps hundreds of people with brain injuries each year, has celebrated its 20th anniversary.
The Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT), provides rehabilitation focused on individual patients, and marked the event with a Hawaiian-themed party at the trust’s Goole facility, and a party at York House, situated at The Retreat, in York.
Brian Hudson, acting services manager, said: “Our goal is to enable service users to function as independently as possible, develop their lives as they choose and participate in the wider community.
“The party was attended by service users and staff, and service users were entertained by staff members who performed songs, magic tricks, bingo, and raffles.
“There were also presentations of certificates for achievements in various areas in service users’ rehabilitation.”
