A 30-year-old man has been killed in a car crash on the A61 near Harrogate.

The crash happened at just after 2.30pm on Sunday, between North Rigton and Harrogate, and involved a red Alfa Romeo Spider and a silver 3 Series BMW, which was heading towards Harrogate.

As a result of the incident, the BMW collided with a tree, and the Alfa Romeo, which was travelling in the opposite direction, came to rest upside down.
