YORK-BASED professional triathlete Philip Graves recently won the Ripon triathlon, breaking the course record in the process.
Graves took on the 1,500 metre lake swim, 40 kilometre bike and 10km run in fine style to record the fastest swim and bike splits on the day, taking him to overall victory. Despite the tough competition from a host of armed forces personnel, Graves won with six minutes to spare.
York Triathlon Club’s Will Kaye was 22nd overall and third in the Vet 40 to 44 category.
Amy Pressland was fourth in the female senior 25 to 29 event, while Jill Dowson was second in the female vet 45 to 49 section.
