I WOULD like to express my support for Geoff Robb (Letters, July 20) regarding the Scottish people.
I, too, am sick of the sneering attitude of many Scots to the English.
Further to this end, I have asked our MP, Greg Knight, to raise the question in the House of Commons of instigating a referendum for the English people to see if we want them in the union.
To this end, I wrote to Mr Knight on June 29, but no answer is forthcoming to date.
I have had previous correspondence with Mr Knight who informs me that the Scottish Parliament raises around 15 per cent of its own budget, the balance I presume being provided by the English taxpayer.
The grant paid to Scotland in 2010/11 was £26.6 billion. Perhaps we are the only two who have such strong feelings against the Scots, but this letter may help to show the strength of feeling for or against it.
