A NEW ‘Red Top’ tabloid is being distributed to the citizens of York by the Labour administration.
It describes the many benefits to be imposed on one and all. On the first page, under the heading “Budget changes to boost the city services”, many thousands are promised.
The most significant paragraph reports that the plans for new recycling centre will be delayed, the plans to build a new council office in Acomb to be scrapped.
This would mean reducing the need to borrow by £1.7 million.
The Labour manifesto for the May election made much about the fact that they would save £1 million by scrapping the plans for the Acomb council offices.
Not to borrow cannot be classed as a saving, can it; how may more U-turns will be hidden in its 12 pages?
