IN RESPONSE to M Barker (Letters, July 21), yes, there is going to be a solution for the voters and taxpayers in York.
Over the past four years, Conservative councillors on City of York Council have put residents and the city as their top priority by limiting council tax increases, reducing councillors’ allowances, abolition of evening parking charges for York’s residents, keeping York’s streets safe by working with neighbourhood police teams, and helping to provide the best education for children and young people.
They are also working to drive York’s economy forward by supporting York’s apprentice scheme and encouraging investment in skills and training, protecting York’s heritage and green belt, and working to make York an enterprise city.
As the Conservative-led government takes the tough but necessary decisions to rebuild our economy, we cannot let this stand in the way of moving York forward – and Conservatives will strive for this.
Terry Smith, Classic Cutz, Fourth Avenue, York.
