York Central is Labour land. The York Central Labour MP Hugh Bayley apparently cost the tax payer £126,075.45 last year on top of his salary (The Press, July 22).
Much has been written in the past questioning whether Mr Bayley represents value for money. Labour also holds most of the council seats in York Central. Mr. Alexander and his team have seemingly got off to a very poor start. This is Labour land and we are stuck with it until 2015, when the next general and York council elections are due. Messrs Bayley and Alexander have four years to prove that Labour in York represents value for money. Four years to fight for York and succeed. Four years. No excuses. It is your job and what we pay you for. Get on with it, please.
