EAST Yorkshire’s Guy Smith, alongside American co-driver Chris Dyson, retained his lead in the American Le Mans Series at Mosport.
Smith finished 28.42 seconds behind the winners in order to hold on to his overall lead.
Their Lola Mazda Coupé started from the front row of the 31-car grid courtesy of Dyson’s qualifying efforts the previous afternoon – the third time in four races the G-OIL/ModSpace/Construct Corps sponsored car has started either first or second.
August 6 will see Smith and Dyson start the next race in the nine-round series at the Mid-Ohio course in Lexington, Ohio with a 26-point series lead.
Dyson and Smith won at Mid-Ohio last year.
