THE MP for Selby and Ainsty has made his expenses claims for the last financial year public.
Conservative Nigel Adams, MP for Selby and Ainsty, registered a total of £88,531.39 of expenses between the General Election in May 2010 and March 2011.
Of this, the greatest expenses were £59,190.47 on staffing, followed by £19,292.70 on accommodation, with the remainder made up of general administration (£4,340.33), travel and subsistence (£3,852.85), and constituency office expenditure (£1,855.04).
His predecessor, John Grogan, claimed expenses of £177,825 between April 2009 and March 2010.
The figures, released by government watchdog IPSA, showed the Labour politician spent almost £25,000 on staying away from home, and £107,000 on staffing costs during the previous financial year.
