RESIDENTS living in sheltered housing in York are to be asked for their views on the future of their warden service.
City of York Council will be speaking to people living in its 27 schemes, as well as landlords and service providers, at a series of meetings in August, September and October.
The authority says it wants to ensure the service meets residents’ needs while providing value for money.
Coun Tracey Simpson-Laing, the council’s cabinet member for health, housing and adult social services, said: “Sheltered housing offers an alternative to many people who want to retain some independence, but want the support and security of having a warden around. “Residents will be key to how we develop the service in the future.”
The consultation is part of a wider restructure of services for older people in York.
