SOUTH Bank and Clarence ‘A’ will meet in the final of the York CIU Heineken John Smith’s Bowls Triples Knockout.
South Bank booked their place with a 19-15 victory over a strong Burton Stone Lane ‘A’ side, while Gary Bunce’s Clarence were 14-11 winners against Acomb ‘B’.
Burton Stone Lane scored five shots on the third end and a four on the 11th to lead 13-8, but South Bank won six of the last seven ends to clinch victory.
The Plate final will be between Acomb ‘A’, who beat Acomb ‘C’ 16-14, and Railway Institute ‘B’, who were 20-15 winners over Burton Lane ‘B’.
Arthur Dunbar’s RI team staved off a comeback by a resolute Burton team to seal their final spot.
The finals will be played at RI’s Ashton Lane green on Tuesday, August 9, at 7pm.
