York Triathlon Club revelled in members taking no fewer than nine podium slots across two races in the prestigious Castle Howard triathlon event.
The first event – The Howard – covered a 1,500-metres lake swim, 46-kilometre bike ride and 10km trail run, with five club members making podium positions. Abey Lawrence continued her excellent season’s successes crossing the line as the first female.
Heading the males was veteran Will Kaye with a fantastic fifth overall to add to his first place in the veteran 40 class. Second vet 40 was Martin Harman.
The male vet 50 category saw Sean McDermott and Matt Rylatt finish second and third respectively.
The Brideshead Sprint, meanwhile, comprised 400m lake swim, 23km bike ride and 4km trail run.
The first male vet 40 and sixth overall was Terry Lightfoot, while second female to finish was Fiona Beard, closely followed by club-mate Andrea Lancaster in third. Helen Buglass was third female vet 40.
