Mitre stayed top of division one in the John Smith’s Darts League after Rich Corner(19 & 180 for 18), Steve Atkin (180) Lutz Leutzsch (16) and Neil Long (180) sealed a 7-3 win over Tree whose Steve Snowden (113 c/o & 180), Alex Renton (21) and Simon Brind (20) played well.
Ainsty closed the gap after Dave Mason (14,17), Adam Thompson (20) and Steve Evans (18) played well in a 9-1 win at Tree.
Heath Scaife (180), Rich Saville (140 c/o for 15), Dave Gibbons (2x17) and Tony Cooper (20) helped Shepherds to a 6-4 win at Acomb.
Division two leaders Severus had Gary Joy (22), Dean Cairns (23) and Andy Alexander (22) excelling but lost their first game of the season 7-3 at Flag, whose best was Lee Rollinson (20) and Graeme Hudson (Bull c/o).
Crescent closed the gap after Steve Smith (22) and Neil Fairclough (22 & 110 c/o) nailed a 7-3 win.
Holgate’s Al Potter included a 180 but his team lost 6-4 at Turf.
