GALA triumph capped a fantastic end to the season for New Earswick All Blacks ARLC Under-10s – and they are already looking forward to next term.
As reported in last week’s Park Life, All Blacks U10s were the only York team to come out on top at the New Earswick club’s annual rugby league gala, which featured competitions for each age group from U8s to U13s.
They won every round-robin game, 1-0, 4-1, 6-2 and 4-2, and the well-fought final against Townville then brought a 3-0 victory.
It was the culmination of some excellent form and a string of wins over the last few months, and it came a day after they celebrated their campaign at an end-of-season fun day – mountain biking in the forest at Keldy, followed by a barbecue and presentation ceremony.
All of the lads were recognised at the bash, with several special awards going to outstanding contributors.
The team are now keen to attract more players for the U11s season beginning in September. They will train twice weekly from late August at White Rose Avenue.
