ON PAGE 11 of The Press of July 28, there was a half-page Samsung promotion to nominate a torchbearer for London 2012.
As a clarinet teacher and player I was horrified to see the clarinet held upside-down. It looked dreadful, especially as the other items are held correctly.
If it was held upside-down from a design point of view to shadow the position and shape of the Olympic flame, then there are plenty of other instruments that could have been held correctly with a bell pointing upwards.
A quick consultation with a musician would have prevented this blunder.
It gives a very amateur look to what should be an excellent idea and promotion.
I have emailed Samsung, but do not expect a reply from such a big corporate business.
