EMERGENCY crews were called to a York residential home after a small fire in a pensioner's accommodation.
Two fire engines, two ambulances and a police unit were sent to De La Salle House, in Fulford Road, at about 8.30 tonight.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire Service said the small fire was out on arrival, but some residents were evacuated for a short period to allow the building to be ventilated.
One elderly resident was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.
