SCORES of animals, including cats, dogs, chickens, rabbits and lizards, took part in a special pet show in York.
The Thompsons of York Pet Show, which took place at Murton Auction Centre on Saturday, was broadcast live on local radio, and winners of each of the six categories won a year’s supply of pet food.
The winner of the best exotic animal category was a bearded dragon, and prizes were also awarded for best small animal, best small and large dogs, best cat and best bird.
Neal Elliot, manager of Thompsons Country Store, said the event was a great success: “It was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere was so friendly.
“We are a little out of town, but the amount of people who turned up was amazing and the atmosphere was fantastic.
“We’re already talking about doing it again next year, it was so successful.”
