OPEN days are to be held in York to explain to council house residents how they could benefit from a scheme to install solar panels.
City of York Council is to use Government funding to install panels on its properties, with the aim of reducing tenants’ energy bills.
Thousands of homes in York could be among the first in the UK to benefit.
The open days will be held between 10am and noon, and will be at Tang Hall Community Centre on August 6, Burton Stone Community Centre on August 13 and Acomb Explore centre on August 20.
There will also be events between 5.30pm and 7.30pm at the Guildhall on August 9, Sanderson Court Community House on August 10, Bell Farm Social Hall on August 11, Foxwood Community Centre on August 16, Burton Stone Community Centre on August 17 and Tang Hall Library on August 18.
