WITH regard to the letter headlined “Stop selling this stuff”, (The Press, July 27) from Mr Atkinson, firstly, we all feel for the victims and relatives of the recent nightmare in Norway.
The killer’s own solicitor has been on worldwide TV describing his client as insane, a drug-using misfit. Concerning the products Blue Moon sells, every item is checked out by our solicitors and products have the necessary licence.
For the record only, more than 1,600 outlets in the UK sell the same or similar products; why should York be different?
The T-shirts we sell have been on the market since the 1970s and the Hitler On Tour shirt is making fun of the man; you only have to read Mein Kampf to realise he was as mad as a hatter.
As to the items we sell, some people are into stamp collecting, some into ballroom dancing; whatever hobby turns you on.
Lastly, Mr Atkinson mentioned us selling these products on a Sunday. We don’t open Sundays. I am usually still hungover after too much of the alcoholic devil’s buttermilk.
Whoops, anyone can make a mistake, some make bigger mistakes than others. Oh, to be perfect!
Stuart Sykes, Blue Moon Trading, Goodramgate, York.
