IN RESPONSE to David Quarrie (Reader’s Letters July 25) regarding David Cameron, Conservative leader and Prime Minster.

DC is not a menace, as Mr Quarrie states in his reader’s letter to The Press.

Mr Cameron has learned a lot and I believe there are reasons to be very proud of the Government under his leadership.

We have seen already capped immigration, frozen council tax, cut corporation tax, freed up the education system, protected NHS funding, reforming the benefits system, empowered local communities and doubled the operational allowance for our brave servicemen and women.

It is due to the last Labour government’s reckless spending that the economic situation remains extremely challenging and this is the real reason inevitable cuts have taken place that are necessary to rebuild our economy.

It is essential that we stick to George Osborne’s deficit reduction plans that will lead to a recovery in our economy.

It is tough, but this is the only way forward and is due to the financial mess and legacy inherited from the previous Labour government’s years of reckless spending that we are in this situation, along with the banks.
