A HAT-TRICK of wins have propelled Dunnington eight points clear of the chasing pack in division one of the Fulford Ladies Invitation Tennis League.

Dunnington beat Bishopthorpe 72-36, Castlegarth 66-42 and York 1 62-46, with Karen and Charlotte Mitchell winning 23 games to topple second-placed York.

York 2 beat Knaresborough 62-46 in a basement battle to claim their first points of the campaign. Anne Jackson and Faye Chapman won 23 games.

Pocklington beat previous leaders Fulford 65-43 to take over at the top of division two. Helen Whilesmith and Mel Duncan won 28 games.

Unbeaten Angie and Trish Bell won 26 games to steer division three leaders Castlegarth to a 65-43 win over Bubwith.

David Lloyd are still in the title hunt, trailing by only four points with two games in hand.

Leaders Riccall beat Boston Spa 65-43 and Cliffe 63-45 to make it ten wins from ten in division four.

Rachel Clarke and Kate Newall won 22 games against Cliffe, and there were 24 games from Jenny Tongue and Michelle Hall at Boston Spa.

Copmanthorpe were trounced 92-16 at second-placed Starbeck, with Dee Nolan and Christine Nodding winning 33 games.

Fulford 3 lead the way in division five after a 72-36 win over promotion-chasing Sutton-on-Derwent. Sue Watson and Jenny Rowland contributed 27 games.

Second-placed Bishopthorpe beat Appleton Roebuck 78-30, with 30 games from Katy Lewis and Milly Pratt, and Dunnington 70-38.

Rufforth have a two-point lead over David Lloyd in division six after a 77-31 win over New Earswick and an 85-23 thrashing of Stamford Bridge.

Christine Edmond and Liz Powell won 32 games against New Earswick and there were 31 games for Denise Reilly and Clare Hildreth against Bridge.

Maxine Gordon and Lena Moverley won 26 games for David Lloyd in a 75-33 win over Bishopthorpe.
