Sutton-on-Derwent and Poppleton have captured the two promotion places in division eight of the IT Sports Mixed Doubles Tennis League.
Sutton’s Stuart Turner and Anna Fell won their first rubber 10-2 in a close match against Copmanthorpe, the only team that could prevent them clinching the title.
They went on to claim 22 wins in a 56-52 victory.
The final relegation place will go down to the last scheduled week. Wigginton are already consigned to the drop and they lost at Tollerton, who were led by the unbeaten Chris Mitchell and Dot Hornby.
Fulford and Appleton Roebuck are still in the mix.
The re-arranged match between Fulford and Dunnington looks like being the division one title decider.
York lost to Fulford and title favourites Dunnington brushed aside a much-changed Rufforth side in their latest outings.
Fulford’s second string have been demoted after unbeaten Pete Goodall and Margaret Whitehead ensured York 2 took the points in a relegation decider.
Bubwith have taken over as division two leaders after they beat Dunnington, who could find no answer to Jon Longthorp and Liz Bramley.
Dunnington bounced back with a hard-fought win over promotion rivals Wigginton.
Division three champions Stamford Bridge kept their unbeaten record – but only just 55-53 against second-placed Bishopthorpe.
Bish then lost 55-53 against Stillington.
Wigginton’s John Long and Sarah Blacker kept their side’s divisional hopes alive and ended Park’s hopes.
Sutton-on-Derwent and Wigginton hold the key to the second promotion place and who will be relegated.
The re-arranged match between David Lloyd and Wilberfoss will be the promotion decider in division four after both teams won.
Andy Holmes and Frances Mutter kept David Lloyd on track for the silverware as they beat Appleton Roebuck, and John Heads and Chris Oldfield maintained Wilberfoss’ challenge with a won at Riccall.
Stillington are relegated after losing to Fulford, for whom Tom Craddock and Jenny Rowland won 31 games.
Riccall and Fulford have identical records and the match between them will be a relegation decider.
David Lloyd and Alne are favourites for promotion from division six as beating Appleton Roebuck and relegated Cawood respectively.
John Linfoot and Rachel Clark kept Riccall in pole position in division nine with a win at Strensall.
Stamford Bridge had a big win against visitors Heworth, but they were then pegged back by David Lloyd, who were led by Mark Bland and Maxine Gordon.
