BREWERIES from North Yorkshire picked up two silver medals at Britain's most prestigious beer awards, writes Gavin Aitchison.
Rudgate, from Tockwith, and Brown Cow, from near Selby, both earned runners-up prizes today in the Champion Beer of Britain Awards at the Great British Beer Festival in London.
Rudgate's prize came in the mild category and was for its Ruby Mild, which won the overall champion award in 2009.
Brown Cow was joint runner-up in the bottled beer category, for its Captain Oates Dark Mild.
The overall Champion Beer of Britain title was won by Mighty Oak brewery in Essex, for its Oscar Wilde dark beer.
