A 15-year-old boy has died after he collided with a deer while cycling with friends in East Yorkshire.
Ben Madden, 15, suffered serious head injuries in the crash on a country lane a week ago. He was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary, but did not recover.
The teenager, from Brough, was riding along the wooded Elloughton Dale last Tuesday afternoon when a deer ran out in front of him and is thought to have clipped his wheel, causing him to crash.
Witnesses said he was not wearing a helmet.
His friends and a passing motorist tried to help him and called paramedics, but he had suffered serious injuries.
A Humberside Police spokeswoman said: “We are putting a file together for the coroner and an inquest will open in due course.”
