ONE of Yorkshire’s National Trust properties is aiming to get the region’s creative juices flowing this summer.
Beningbrough Hall and Gardens, north of York, is running Artrageous workshops twice a week throughout the school holidays. The workshops allow children to show off their artistic skills, from making musical instruments to parading their own hand made wigs and hair ornaments. The workshops are attracting around 100 children per session, many of whom are returning.
Clare Fletcher, community, learning and volunteering manager at Beningbrough Hall, said: “Art comes in all shapes and sizes at Beningbrough; from the mini walled gardens we made in the first week of the school holidays, to the giant chalk art attacks we have made in the laundry courtyard.
“This week has been great fun, making jockey silks and then having the opportunity to go on a horse and carriage ride.”
Booking for the workshops is not needed and normal admission prices apply.
