City of York Athletics Club’s veteran athlete Colin Shafto set three championship records on his way to three gold medals at the Eastern Veterans’ track and field championships at the Lynnsport Athletic Centre in King’s Lynn.
The 76-year-old athlete from Shipton-by-Beningbrough, was competing in the M75 age group. He set new figures in the high jump clearing 1.25 metres to take the gold, then a winning leap of 3.43m in the long jump, before winning the gold and another record in the 80m hurdles with a time of 17.4 seconds.
