City of York Hockey Club men’s firs team raised £1,800 for the development of new club facilities by taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
They climbed the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough – a distance of 25 miles – in under 12 hours, raising £900 in the process. The team sponsor matched the total.
The team included Richie Cockram, Chris Wilson, Oliver Couttie, David Clamp, Luke Ramli, Michael Gamble, Alex Cockram, Jack Purrington, Steve Patterson, Mike Couttie, Jonathan Chappell and his faithful dog Dogbert.
