Many were rather surprised to discover that the lady in pink at the Royal Wedding was Anne of Cleves from The Tudors, also known as Ms Joss Stone.
Stone is well connected, having collaborated with artists as revered as James Brown, Jeff Beck, John Legend, Donna Summer, Rod Stewart and.., Ringo Starr, and a bigger star internationally than in the UK. Her next project, SuperHeavy, fuses the talents of Mick Jagger, AR Rahman, Damian Marley and Dave Stewart from The Eurythmics.
In preparation, Stewart has produced and co-written much on LP1, Stone’s fifth studio LP and the first on her own label. At times Stone may seem to be at one with the fairies, but she has a distinctive soulful voice.
Combining this with Stewart’s country rock production, LP1 is well worth investigating. Although one suspects, LP1 will be far better received on the other side of the Atlantic.
