I WOULD urge all council tenants who have recently received a letter regarding solar panels to attend one of the consultation events.
It may be that residents are concerned about the installation process, or how the system will help them.
One thing is certain; the panels will save money on fuel bills for those in fuel poverty, and that is to be welcomed as is the help this will do in reducing the city’s carbon footprint.
The events are being held today from 10am to noon at Tang Hall Community Centre; on Tuesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Guildhall; on Wednesday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Sanderson Court Community House; on Thursday from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Bell Farm Social Hall; on Saturday, August 13, from 10am to noon at Burton Stone Community Centre; on August 16 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Foxwood Community Centre; on August 17 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at the Burton Stone Community Centre; on August 18 from 5.30pm to 7.30pm at Tang Hall Library; and on August 20 from 10am to noon at Acomb Explore.
Coun Tracey Simpson-Laing, Cabinet member for health housing and adult social services, Salisbury Road, Leeman Road, York.
