WITH many charities having their budgets cut, they are having to rely on fundraising work to keep the aid rolling in.
One such charity is the Alzeimer’s Society, which relies enormously on donations.
Duncan Bartlett is the local Tesco’s Community Champion and has roped in the help of local entertainers such as myself to assist in fundraising.
People visiting the Tadcaster Road branch of Tescos are often greeted by some form of entertainment – myself as a rock’n’roll live jukebox, keyboard players, opera singers, girl groups and more.
But the important thing is so many of you keep donating in those collecting buckets and without those donations our time would be wasted.
The donations add up to several hundred pounds a week and over the rest of the year will make a massive difference to the charity.
I would like to say thank you on behalf of all the entertainers for making it all worthwhile.
Please keep on giving as every little helps and will really make a difference.
Eddie Vee, Wenham Road, York.
