A BODY has been found in the hunt for a missing North Yorkshire man.
Police sent out an urgent appeal to trace David Holdsworth, 47, after he went missing from his home on Thursday evening.
A neighbour saw him leave his home address on Hookstone Avenue, Harrogate, at about 6:30pm, in his car. His car was later parked at the address but there was no sign of Mr Holdsworth.
Officers said they were concerned for his welfare as his disappearance was out of character. He also had health issues and did not have the “essential medication he requires”, police said.
After extensive searches, officers found a body at Hookstone Viaduct at Fulwith Mill Lane on Saturday.
Police said although a formal identification has not yet taken place they are no longer searching for Mr Holdsworth.
