A MOTORCYCLIST was airlifted to hospital with spinal injuries, two broken legs and a broken arm following a collision at a popular biker’s café in North Yorkshire.
The accident happened shortly before 11am yesterday on the B1222, close to Squire's biker café, near Tadcaster The incident involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a motorbike.
The biker, a 37-year-old man was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance, where he remained for treatment last night.
A spokesman for North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said fortunately his injuries are not life threatening.
Two fire crews, police and an ambulance attended the accident.
The female driver of the Vauxhall Corsa, a woman in her late 50s, was treated at the scene by paramedics for shock and was given oxygen by fire crews. Police partially closed the road following the incident while investigations were carried out at the scene.
Any witnesses, anyone travelling on the B1222 at the time or anybody who saw the vehicles involved prior to the collision, are asked to phone North Yorkshire Police on 0845 6060247.
