A WILDLIFE charity is looking to develop a national seabird research centre in East Yorkshire.
The RSPB has secured an initial grant of £30,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund to plan the redevelopment of the clifftop reserve at Bempton Cliffs.
The proposals include an indoor learning centre and taking on additional staff to carry out studies into birds which inhabit the area.
If further funding can be secured, the centre could open in 2014, with the first injection of money being used to produce architects’ drawings and plan the research and activities.
