VISITORS can try their hand at worm composting, shelter building and pond-dipping at the third Wild About Wood festival this weekend.
The event at The Arboretum Trust, Kew at Castle Howard, from 10am to 5pm, will encourage people to learn more about the 27 species of worms native the UK and make their own mini-wormery to take home.
The festival will also include paddling a coracle, archery and tree-climbing, as well as demonstrations of traditional woodcrafts, such as pole lathe turning, heavy horse logging, willow weaving and chainsaw carving.
