THE Press’ Think, Don’t Swim film has been seen by more than 3,000 people in 30 days.
The eight-minute film, aimed at raising awareness of the dangers of York’s rivers, was created by York film-maker Christopher David of Flash Frame Productions.
It is part of our Think, Don’t Swim campaign which was launched after a 21-year-old bartender, Richard Horrocks, drowned after jumping in the Ouse from a balcony. He was one of three people to have died in the river so far this year.
The film features emotional interviews with Richard’s mother and sister, a former coroner’s officer and a diving expert, along with a fictional dramatisation about a young man who drowns after deciding to go skinny dipping in the river.
