A COMPANY linked to a York businessmen who admitted smuggling illegal weaponry into the United States has been wound up, according to Companies House.
Documents filed online state that Frederic James Ltd, which was registered at 31 St Saviourgate in York, was being wound up today.
Firearms dealer Karl Kleber, 56, was a director of the company when he admitted in a US court to smuggling thousands of Chinese-made weapon parts into the country.
He admitted importing 5,000 Chinese 75-round capacity AK47 rifle drum magazines into America, while presenting them as Bulgarian.
It is illegal in the United States to import arms manufactured in China.
