Your wedding day is one to remember and you really want your wedding photographs to make an impact in your home.

It’s all well and good having them tucked away in an album, or one or two of your favourites in small frames on your mantelpiece, but how about having a startling 8ft by 6ft image of you and your new husband set on glass on a feature wall in your lounge or dining room?

This is the newest venture from Maltonbased Zenki Tiles and Interiors, who can print images of photographs on to glass to be wall-mounted.

“It’s a bit more than just a photo in the normal sense,” says David Hume, owner of Zenki Tiles and Interiors.

“Images printed on glass offer a clarity and depth of image, which gives a stunning effect.

“We can make the image as large or small as a piece of glass which the bride and groom can keep forever, a piece of art as a reminder of their wedding day.” David said that this option is especially appealing these days as contemporary interior décor is more cutting edge, so this sort of startling image would fit in with that sort of look well.

The glass used is not just a standard piece of glass but toughened glass such as that used in car windscreens, which sits in brackets half an inch off a wall. This means that it is not going to shatter if it gets knocked and if it does break, it won’t leave any sharp edges. The edges of the glass are polished and predrilled and come complete with fixtures and fittings so that it is easily fixed to the walls.

“A customer can email us a jpeg file of the image they want us to feature and as long as it is two or three megabytes, there’s no problem with printing it on to the glass,” says David.

And the turnaround is fast – you can have your piece of wedding wall art back in five to seven days, as this is how long the process of toughening glass takes.

Prices depend on the size of glass, starting at 3ft high by just under 2ft wide at a cost of £150 to a maximum of 8ft high by 6ft wide for £1,500.
